Nest Box N-6 / June 15

As I approached the box, I heard a clicking sound inside. When I opened the door, an Ash-throated Flycatcher snapped its bill and flew out, revealing four eggs. Three fledged from this box.

Six Western Bluebird eggs. Two pair of bluebirds nearby, males fighting. Five eggs hatched, four fledged, one died in the nest. A second brood in this box fledged four more bluebirds.

These two bluebirds just barely hatched. As I opened the nest box door, they raised their heads weakly with open bills. Four eggs hatched, one nestling died, three fledged. See last photo below of this brood ready to fledge two weeks later.

Opened the door to discover four bluebirds nearly ready to fledge! Five eggs were laid here one month earlier. One unhatched egg remained in the nest after the four fledged.
